a birthday and a baptism
Days are flyin’ by – and our girls are flyin’ even faster. Settled in at school, and Stephanie is settling in at work. It’s all work these days.
“On this day, at 5:34 (approx) AM, you were brought into our lives” is what I heard growing up on my birthdays – still do, occasionally. At 8:22 PM on October 6th ‘07 – Hannah showed up. What joy these past two years have been with her, Stephanie, and now Addie. She’s learned how to display attitude, but takes timeout like a woman. She knows how to paint murals on the walls with crayons, but knows how to say “I’m sorry” to the point where you cant stand to be mad anymore. She’s booted a few of the daycare kids in the upper body – and legs. That, however, required dicipline. Hannah’s a pistol, but we can see that she’s on her way to becoming a pistola. Tricky, independent, and charming when she’s got you on the edge.
The birthday celebration was a blast – and the bouncy thing made it even better. A good time was had by all.
We’ve joined Dunwoody UMC, and had Addie baptized there on Sunday. Such a great group – and we like the minister a lot. HUGE church – but I’m sure we’ll find our spot as we get more involved.
With halloween just around the corner, and Thanksgiving/Christmas just around the next – I realize these are the seasons I love the most. Fall, Winter means Deer Hunting. Wait. Maybe it doesn’t mean that anymore? We’ll see what I can negotiate with Stephanie
